No one except one who has been there, knows the pain and suffering a women has when she unable to have a child. The invasive doctors exams, tests, procedures, surgeries, pain of endometriosis. Also, the guilt a women carries in her heart with inability to give her husband his own child.
The only comfort I've found is through prayer, hope, belief, and my frequent visits to the Basilica Parish. Father Baker loved children so and provided many abandoned children with a loving environment and home.
I continue to pray to Father Baker that someday he will bless my husband and I with a child. A child we will love as he loved his many children. A child for whom we can provide a home filled with happiness, and faith in God.

My wife and I have experienced difficulties trying to start a family, but have not ruled out adoption as a very noble option. Father Baker's example of providing a home and family for unwanted or underprivileged babies has been an inspiration to us during this trying time. We pray every day to Father Baker for strength and faith, and we ask all of you to keep us in your prayers as well. We are blessed and proud to be part of the Father Baker community and are more than happy to share your intentions in our prayers.

My father was born premature with his twin weighing 1lb.3oz. each, witch im told was a record at Father Baker's back in 1931. My father's twin did no survive. We don't even know the sex of the baby. As the story goes, my father was so small that they feared he would not survive. Im told Father Baker himself brought him on a pillow to the altar of the church and prayed for him.
When my father's grandfather came to adopt him, they sent him home with a beutiful poem writen by a nurse, a bible signed by Father Baker, and the pillow.
The effect this man has had on my family cannot be measured. I just pray the road to Father Baker's Sainthood will not be mutch longer.

Almost one year ago (April 11th) my sister got caught in her dog's leash and fell breaking her hip. Since that time, she has had surgery to pin the hip together, but the healing process has been very slow. The doctor is giving her two more months to show some progress ofthe bones mending before they do a hip replacement. She is very nervous and frustrated. While visiting her this past weekend, she mentioned Father Baker, and said she was putting her trust in him to help speed this healing process along. She has a special connection to him in that while she was in nurses' training in Buffalo, she worked at Our Lady of Victory Hospital! (I won't say how long ago!) I would request that all keep my sister in your prayers, just as we are asking for intervention in the names of others requesting his blessings. Father Baker was a perfect example of what positive thoughts and prayers can do for those who believe. May he bless us all!

Father Baker was a man who's strong presense can be felt today. Whether it's in the OLV Basilica, the Infant Home, or OLV Hospital, you can still feel the man and the love that he shared for all of humanity. He's an example for all, and his legacy still effects people to this day. When things are bad in my life, I always know that there's somewhere I can go to feel comfortable. That's at Father Baker's within OLV.
He lived as a Saint during his life, and one day the entire world will know him for what he was.
Father Baker, please look over my Father and Grandfather. Both of them are quite ill, and all I ask is that you keep your everloving hand upon them (and my family) through this tough time.
God Bless You.
